Daniel Borkenhagen, MDiv, MS, MH PR - Licensee LPC
BIO
I am finishing my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and will then be pursuing full licensure as an LPCC, in MN.
My goal is to help you think about yourself in terms of body, mind, and soul and how all of these can be part of your solution. My background includes 16 years as a pastor working with children, youth, and adults as well as five years specifically working with seniors. I have loved these positions, but I felt that I was being called to pursue additional expertise in counseling, especially after working through my own struggles with addiction and finding a path to recovery that involved counseling and 12 Step work. I am specifically interested in helping people work through struggles with depression, anxiety, grief, caregiving, marital/relationship problems, and addiction and work with adolescents, adults, and seniors. I will build a cooperative relationship with you, help you find your own strengths, ask the right questions, and help you challenge thoughts and patterns from your past and present that are undermining your mental health. My therapeutic approach includes elements of systems and cognitive behavioral theories, but I’m always looking at each individual and tailoring my approach to them. I look forward to supporting you on your path to whole person health.
